Fuller Shop F.A.I.T.H. Build

Great news! We have received the building permit to start on the next new house for a deserving young family. The house will be built at 130 Genovese Street in Independence for Ms. Krystal Dillon and her three children, as well as her mother Debra. They are very excited to finally start building after going through our Homeowner Education class and waiting for nearly 2 years for all the pieces to fall into place.

General Contractor Glen Alack will oversee construction by Ginger Ford Northshore staff and volunteers as they frame up a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house which was donated by Crossroads Missions in New Orleans. Volunteers 16 and up are welcome to come out and swing a hammer alongside Krystal and her family. Our goal is to have the house complete and ready for the family to move in by May 1, 2015.

Fifty percent of the funding for this house has been provided by The Fuller Shop and the build will primarily be led by women. With that in mind, we are using the word Faith to stand for Females Addressing Inadequate Tangipahoa Housing because there is certainly a large demand for more safe and affordable housing in this parish. Funding is an ongoing concern and we welcome your donations which would go directly into building this house.

Everyone is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday November 12 at 2:00pm at 130 Genovese Street, Independence. Come out and welcome Krystal and her family to their new neighborhood!
